The Plasma Pen operates through a process known as fibroblast therapy. It generates a plasma arc that, when brought near the skin, ionizes the air in the gap between the device tip and the skin. This ionization creates a small electrical charge or arc, which causes controlled micro-injuries on the skin's epidermal layer while simultaneously transmitting heat to the underlying dermal tissue layers. This dual action stimulates the fibroblasts, the collagen-producing cells within the dermis, to increase collagen and elastin production, leading to tighter, more youthful-looking skin.
